Customer Reviews
Mediadevil is amazing
I ordered this item, and because I’m an idiot and messed up on the directions, I ended up with a ton of bubbles. Twice. However, I have no doubt that anyone who takes the time to do it right and not rush through will have great results.
However, I’m mostly writing this review because I wish I could give 10 stars for customer service. When I emailed them for advice, not only did they respond almost immediately, they also sent me their new product (at no charge)–the slightly more idiot-proof one that doesn’t have adhesive on the screen part, just the edges, and it’s amazing. I’m off to write a review for that, because it’s without a doubt the easiest screen protector I’ve used on any device.
I will look for any excuse to recommend Mediadevil to my friends, and to use them again, because I am so wowed by the customer service. It’s hard to find a company that treats their customers this way anymore.
highly recommended screen protector
After doing research on which screen protector to get for my new iPad, I finally found this one, and I am very pleased with it. When first applying, the screen protector’s surface seems rather slick, but after a while, it does not look/feel like there’s a screen protector there! I do recommend having 2 people to place an iPad screen protector on – also to do it in an area with a desk light and tape handy to take away the dust specks. I messed up the first time around, but the seller graciously sent another one and tried his best to help me resolve the issue. I would highly recommend this product, and thank you for excellent customer service!
As always… Simply the Best!
The iPad 2 Crystal Clear screen protector is simply, the finest product there is. Better than ALL of the other guys (ZAGG), charging twice the price. This product is affordable, durable and just a great product and value. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Additionally, the Customer Service is the best in the industry!
Bravo Prone Devil!
Good quality screen protector, but "fingerprints" easily.
I’m a big fan of MediaDevil products. I have had their anti-glare protectors on my iPad1, iPad2, as well as on the front and back of my iPhone 4S – five stars across the board on their anti-glare screen protectors. Given the large retina display of the iPad3, I went with this Crystal Clear edition for my iPad3, and the screen protector certainly fits the iPad3. There is no loss in visual acuity either, which is certainly welcomed given the new beautiful display on the iPad3. However, one significant drawback of this crystal film vs. MediaDevil’s anti-glare films is that I notice fingerprints and smudges appear more easily than with no screen protector at all. I find myself cleaning/wiping the screen much more often than I did before I installed this screen protector. I’m actually considering purchasing MediaDevils’s anti-glare screen protector for the iPad3 with the hope that it won’t alter the screen clarity of the iPad3′s retina display. (I’m just monitoring the reviews of that anti-glare protector to see if loss of screen clarity is an issue before taking the plunge). Overall, I would recommend this screen protector to any iPad2 or iPad3 owners who want screen protection with no loss of screen clarity, but who also don’t mind often having to clean away excessive fingerprints and smudges that this screen protector seems to trap.
My installation tip for iPad screen protectors – run your shower on “hot” for 5-10 minutes with your shower curtain/door open to get your bathroom nice and steamy. This is key as the steam pulls dust particles out of the air. While the shower is running, clean away a countertop or some other bathroom surface that can serve as working space for your screen protector installation. Clean and dry your hands, then clean your iPad screen with a nice eyeglasses cleaner and the provided anti-scratch cloth in the MediaDevil package. (Spray it with a can of compressed air if you have one just to make sure no dust is present.) My method for installing the screen protector is to actually pull away and completely remove the first of the two clear screen protector covers (i.e., the one that covers the side of the screen protector that will adhere to the glass of the iPad). I then hold the right and left edges of the screen protector by my finger tips and then bring my hands close together so that the centermost portion of the protector falls below my finger tips. I then line up the front-facing camera hole and home button holes perfectly on the iPad screen, then simply drop the two sides of the screen protector down from the center of the screen moving outward so that the protector flattens out to the edges of the screen. I then smooth/press away any air bubbles. There shouldn’t be any bubbles with little specks of dust in them, but if there are, they can be removed by lifting up the edge of the screen protector and inserting a piece of transparent tape over the speck of dust to remove it, then laying the screen protector back down.
Easy install, crystal clear, maintains slick surface of original screen
Installed this on a new iPad (3rd Gen). So happy that it does not affect the clarity of the retina display. If you are careful about cleaning the screen and controlling the environment, the install is as easy as you can expect. The resulting screen is just as slick as the bare glass so this protector lets me use my stylus for writing. One down side is that fingerprints show up a little worse than without a protector at all. I am willing to make that sacrifice to protect my screen. Good product.
Great for the iPad 3 and those who use a stylus.
This screen protector is in fact “crystal clear”, and will not distort the Retina display on the new iPad. Also, for those who use a stylus, it feels just like writing on the iPad glass. No dragging feeling against the pen. It does take extra caution during the application, but once you get it on you will not know it is there! Spend the money for a good screen protector – I at first purchased a $3 protector and it made the screen look quite fuzzy, and felt terrible against your finger and stylus.
Best screen protector
I love this screen protector it is worth every penny. I highly recommend it, this is the only screen protector that actually works,
Love. I takes time but it is worth it
Love the cover. Feels even softer than then the ipad glass. Word of advice, be very gental with the screen it feels a thin flexible glass and if you hold it too hard it will bend.
Don’t rush through the process it will take time but it is worth it. The screen doesn’t even seem like it is on but it does protect it against starches and lines I know my stylus will make, I have the jot.
They send you 2 of the covers which is what you will need. Use the 1st one to Make all your mistakes then the 2nd one on when you figure out how to put it on well. My 1st one bent & had bubbles & dust. If you have any problems e-mail the company, they are really prompt & helpful in their response. It’s not one of the "don’t reply to this message" bs (sorry pet peeve).
The product I love, It does take patience & time to get it on. But now that mine is on, I love the soft glass like feel.
Amazing to Apply
I am the kind of person that orders two iPhone or iPad screen protectors since the first one always seems to mess up, finds extra dirt and particles and never lines up. Not so with this resource. MediaDevil has a great system and an excellent tutorial online. Their cloth and a “scraper/smoother” come in the packet and it was the easiest screen shield I have ever applied. It went on first time with only two bubbles and they give you the exact instruction in dealing with different kinds of bubbles (air bubbles, dust, particles, etc. I wish they all were are clear in their instructions. The sticky side was very depositional when setting it on the iPad, Highly recommend this one. I travel a lot and so the screen is important in the car. I like have the high resolutions, but I would opt for the anti-glare screen next time.
